"Tropical flowers can be dangerous. Some are deadly to eat, others give you a rash when you touch them. But I find the carnivorous flowers the most fascinating. There's a large field near my home rich with wild grasses and the insects and birds they support. Red and yellow pitcher plants have taken root and spread little cups of intoxicating liquid across the clay. Using a torch at night you can see sparkly-eyed insects cavorting towards a drunken doom.
This piece celebrates that spirit of reckless abandon when we shout let's have fun and hang the consequences."
