"There is a grove of very tall trees at the end of my street. They grow with thick, straight trunks, few branches and a round cap of leaves. This formation seems to make for a perfect perch. On late night walks I often see a large buffy fish owl perching in their branches.
In this piece my imaginary raptor is in full hunt mode, patrolling the ground below for unsuspecting shrews, lizards and toads."
