"With their six-foot wingspan, the largest birds in our forest are the White-bellied Sea Eagles. They like to nest in the highest trees around the old quarries, now flooded with fresh water and fish.

Despite their size, they can be difficult to spot unless you know how to listen for them. They have a very unexpected call - a honking noise rather like a goose. So you might not think there are eagles close by when you hear it.

Then suddenly they're above you. Soaring in higher and higher circles on the swirling afternoon heat. If you've got a Chihuahua in tow, keep an eye on it. The eagles are watching your Chi with both."
